Ritter Sport

Quite literally, nom nom nom

I know this isn't a Trader Joe's brand, but I did get this one from Trader Joe's. While I was in line, this guy behind me to the left got uncomfortably close to me. So I decided to reach out to the insert name section for this to get uncomfortably close to him. It worked and he backed off.

This is quite possibly the best Ritter Sport flavor there is. I love the chocolate and biscuit combination--the soft, melty chocolate and the crunchy biscuit. It's a match made in heaven. Nom nom nom within 30 minutes.

Unappetizing Lookin Filet of Sole

Dinner

Filet of Sole (Reduced < Guilt)
$2.99
190 calories
3 grams of fiber or 12% daily value
Very low in fat! High in protein

This was an interesting dish. Quite obviously, it looks pretty unappetizing. Personally, I was shocked pulling it out of the microwave. Furthermore, I was a bit alarmed that the plastic tray was in that shape. Nonetheless, I dug in.

The filet of sole was quite tender on one end. Loved the butter beans which I rarely have in my diet. After this dish, I want butter beans to be a more frequent part of my diet! And I love spinach. So the combination of the three is pretty much perfect. But then there's the sauce. I'm not quite sure what it was--maybe a balsamic reduction or soy sauce. It was kind of sweet, kind of sour, but it had one of my most hated ingredients--cilantro.

I didn't know it had cilantro when I bought it. So when I smelled the cilantro, I was a bit taken aback. Good thing when I dug in, the cilantro taste was barely there; it just slightly passed my taste threshold. Now, I don't know if I love it (which I should since I love fish and it's only $2.99!!!) but I most likely will be buying this again to give it a second try.

All in all, a piece of fish, a good amount of butter beans, and some spinach all at just 190 calories for only $2.99 is a pretty good deal.

Pizza & Wine

Dinner

BBQ Chicken Pizza
$4.99
340 calories per serving / 1020 calories per pizza
2 grams of fiber or 7% daily value / 6 grams of fiber or 21% daily value per pizza
High in fat :(

Pinot Grigio from Venice
$4.99
Whatever
Nobody cares about nutritional value of alcohol

I love the idea of food with wine. The two are supposed to create some sort of synergy by adding/intensify/complementing flavors. Sadly that never happens to me. Food makes my wine taste bad. But I had wine with food anyways.

I usually buy vegetarian pizzas, but I haven't had chicken or any sort of meat in a while so I chose this BBQ one. After baking it in the oven for like 10 minutes, the pizza looked scrumptious. The cheese, chucks of chicken, diced onions looked fantastic. I was expecting it to be like the BBQ chicken pizza at Domino's (which I love) but it's not like it at all. This pizza is slightly smoky, kind of mesquite. Overall, it's decent but I'm going to try some other flavors before buying this one again.

As with the wine, the price of it is fantastic! And I got it for free because the cashier forgot to scan it. Thank you. But of course I didn't realize I didn't pay for it until I got home. It's quite acidic and slightly grapey, but other than that, I couldn't really detect any other notes. So I mixed it with some Hansen's soda.

Cheers to free wine and cheaper than delivered pizza!

English Vegetable Marsala Muffin-Burger

What I had for breakfast:
Vegetable Masala Burger
$2.49 / 4 patties
120 calories / patty
1 gram of fiber or 5% daily value

Multigrain British Muffins
$1.69 / 6 muffins
120 calories / muffin
4 gram of fiber or 16% daily value

Loved the patty. Great Indian spice taste. (I find that Trader Joe's usually does a great job with Indian food.) It smelled so good while microwaving. Sadly, mine doesn't have the nice grill marks. The patty is made mostly of potatoes, which wasn't what I expected, but still loved.

I try to stay away from English muffins because they are supposed to be nutrition-less. But I love them and found these which are made with multi-grain. These are pretty fluffy. As a fiber counter, I really appreciate the amount of fiber in each muffin.

I added some greens from my salad to make it a "burger," but it really is the most non-traditional burger I've had!

Cost of 1 muffin-burger: $0.90
Calories of 1 muffin-burger: 240
Fiber of 1 muffin-burger: 5g / 21%
