This was an interesting dish. Quite obviously, it looks pretty unappetizing. Personally, I was shocked pulling it out of the microwave. Furthermore, I was a bit alarmed that the plastic tray was in that shape. Nonetheless, I dug in.
The filet of sole was quite tender on one end. Loved the butter beans which I rarely have in my diet. After this dish, I want butter beans to be a more frequent part of my diet! And I love spinach. So the combination of the three is pretty much perfect. But then there's the sauce. I'm not quite sure what it was--maybe a balsamic reduction or soy sauce. It was kind of sweet, kind of sour, but it had one of my most hated ingredients--cilantro.
I didn't know it had cilantro when I bought it. So when I smelled the cilantro, I was a bit taken aback. Good thing when I dug in, the cilantro taste was barely there; it just slightly passed my taste threshold. Now, I don't know if I love it (which I should since I love fish and it's only $2.99!!!) but I most likely will be buying this again to give it a second try.
All in all, a piece of fish, a good amount of butter beans, and some spinach all at just 190 calories for only $2.99 is a pretty good deal.
